Rumor Mill: Ted Turner Buys JCP



Rumor has is that media mogul, Ted Turner has bought controlling interest of Jim Crockett Promotions from the Crockett family.

According to sources, Turner purchased 65 percent of the company for $9 million.  The Crockett family will have a minority interest in the company, with Jim Crockett, Jr. staying on as a consultant.

The sources went on to say that Ted Turner plans to make a statement this Saturday night on JCP’s World Championship Wrestling, which airs at 6:05 on TBS.

Ted Turner and Magnum T.A. dropped a bombshell on the wrestling world Saturday night.  Jim Crockett Promotions has ceased to exist, and in it's place is now World Championship Wrestling.  Turner has broken away from the NWA and is planning to have his own champions.
